A picture of Vega before she was subjected to such horrible living conditions.
As best we can tell from visual inspections of Vega, since there are no records on her, she is a female blue and white Persian, that is approximately 2-3 years old.
Vega is in the care of a volunteer foster parent, who is currently seeing to her extensive medical care and recovery. She has since regained some weight but she weighed only 3.05 pounds the night she was taken out of the hoarding house, more than half what she should weigh. She is at least 5 weeks from this time (December 26, 2024) from being available for adoption, as she is being treated for ringworm and skin infections. Her nails had grown so long that they had curled around and threatened to enter her paw pads. She will need dental care before she goes home.
Her foster parent reports that Vega has the most outgoing personality and is a very friendly cat. She is the first to greet her foster parent and all she wants is love. She gets along well with other animals and is likely to do well in any type of home. However, being a Persian, she will need to have a pet parent who is familiar with the intense maintenance that Persians need.
Vega is still undergoing medical care and we do not know if she will need any additional medical care related to her experience in that horrible living situation. We will know this before she goes home.
