What is a congress?

Suprisingly, a lot of people don’t know what a congress is.  A congress is a special ring designed around a certain criteria set by the show (in this case, male and female allbreed championship cats and short and long hair cats), in order to give cats a chance to win points for their titles.  In this respect, Supreme Grand Champion cats are not included in the congress, since they have achieved all their titles and it would be pointless (pun intended) to have them compete in a congress.  At the same time, supreme champion cats might take an opportunity away from other cats to achieve their titles.  Points from a congress do not go toward awards.

NOTE: We need at least 20 cats in each congress for a congress to take place, so be sure to also enter your allbreed cat in the appropriate congress to give us the numbers we need.  There is no additional fee to be in the congress.

Entry Fees (scroll down)

Directions

From Denver International Airport: When leaving the airport, check your GPS or navigation for the fastest route. Route times vary during the time of day from an hour and a half to two hours. However, if you do not have navigation, the following are your options:

Via E-470 (tollway) to I-25

Head north on Peña Blvd. Get on E-470 S in Adams County from E 75th Ave, Jackson Gap Rd and E 56th Ave (6.5 mi). Follow E-470 S (tollway) to I-25 S to Colorado Springs. Take exit 149 from I-25 S (45.6 mi), to Woodman Road. Turn left onto Woodman Road. Continue on Woodman Road about .5 miles to Campus Drive. Turn right onto Campus Drive and follow that until you run into Vincent Drive (1 mile).  Continue on Vincent Drive toward Dublin Boulevard, where you will find Under the Sun Training and Event Center to your right, before the traffic light.  Parking in the front is reserved for handicapped. Please park in the back.

From Colorado Springs Airport: The route from Colorado Springs Airport to the show hall is twenty-seven (27) minutes. Colorado Springs Airport is a small airport and pleasant to use. You can get in and out very quickly. If coming in from Colorado Springs Airport, take the following route to the show hall:

Take Milton E Proby Pkwy to CO-21 N (1.9 mi) and turn right onto CO-21. Drive north on CO-21 approximately 2 miles until you reach Hwy 24 (Fountain Blvd). Turn left on Hwy 24, heading west (toward the mountains) and go approximately 4 miles to the on ramp to I-25 going north (toward Denver/Manitou Springs).  Once on I-25 North, go approximately 8 miles to Exit 149 for Woodman Road.

NOTE: If you have GPS, it may tell you to get off at Exit 148 for Rockrimmon Blvd.  This is an alternate route.  I prefer getting off at Woodman Road.
