According to records found at the breeder’s house and website, Milan was listed as a female short leg Minuet. She was born on March 5, 2022 and is a torbie.
Milan is in the care of a volunteer foster parent in Colorado, who is seeing to her medical care and recovery. She was so badly emaciated that she was nothing but skin and bones. She was suffering severely from muscle wasting. Even after three weeks, she is still pretty underweight, so attention is being focused on weight and muscle gain. She was infested with Giardia and Coccidia and had constant diarrhea.
Milan currently is not available for adoption yet. She needs more medical attention and weight gain. Her stools have become normal, but she will need labs done to make sure she is no longer fighting any infections. Attention is being given to weight gain. She also has a canine tooth that has grown into her mouth and will have to be removed. This will be done when she is spayed, down the line.
Her foster parent reports that Milan is not trusting and is easily frightened. She does not trust people at this time, but her foster is working at handling her to re-instill trust in people. We will know more about her special needs and the home type she should go to once she is closer to being on the mend.
UPDATE: Milan is becoming a bit more trusting, although she has some reservations still. Her foster is working specifically with her to resolve her fear of people.
We are uncertain at this time if Milan will need further medical maintenance once she goes home. We will have this information once a veterinarian clears her for spaying and re-homing.
If you might be interested in adopting Milan once she becomes available, please fill out an application.
