Rescued: Melody

A picture of Melody before she was subjected to such horrible living conditions.

According to records found at the breeder’s house and website, Melody was listed as a female long legged Minuet. She was born on April 22, 2019 and is a seal lynx point.

Melody was in the care of a volunteer foster parent, who saw to her medical care and recovery. She was so badly emaciated that she was nothing but skin and bones.  She was suffering severely from muscle wasting. Even after three weeks, she is still pretty underweight, so attention is being focused on weight and muscle gain.

Melody currently is not available for adoption yet. She needs more medical attention and weight gain. She is being transported to the Omaha area, where another foster parent will house her and see that she gets more veterinary care by the veterinary clinic that is working specifically with these cats.

Her foster parent reports that Melody is incredibly sweet and loves to be cuddled. Surprisingly, she likes to be around people. She loves kittens and could do well with other cats. She has also lived with dogs before. We will know more about her special needs and the home type she should go to once she is closer to being on the mend.

The foster parent that Melody is going to remembers rescuing her from a previous hoarding situation before. It is unknown how the current criminal hoarder came into possession of her, but this is being investigated.

We are uncertain at this time if Melody will need further medical maintenance once she goes home. We will have this information once a veterinarian clears her for spaying and re-homing.

If you might be interested in adopting Melody once she becomes available, please fill out an application.
